Maria Mandilas is a Senior Paralegal at the Brain Injury Rights Group (BIRG). At BIRG she manages many of the complex aspects of cases, projects and other matters, including research, due diligence and preparation of legal documents.

Maria joined BIRG after a number of years with various NY-based private law firms specializing in criminal defense and special education. Her experience includes managing communications and administrative duties for firm executives, ensuring seamless operations by prioritizing matters, handling correspondence, and supporting both professional and personal tasks for the executives.

Previously roles at various law firms included managing paralegals and legal assistants, scheduled meetings, reviewed legal documents, and interfaced with clients and the Department of Education. Her extensive law firm experience provided her with comprehensive understanding in criminal law, real estate, and court filings, showcasing her advanced skills in legal research, drafting pleadings, and managing client files.

Maria’s extensive background also includes a position as Director of the School Office of Special Services for a NYC-based school, where she managed the special education team and communicated the special education process to parents.

Maria holds a Paralegal Certificate from New York Paralegal School and a B.A. in Law and Society from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She is also a New York State Licensed Real Estate Salesperson, a Cosmetologist, and is fluent in Greek.
